Tyre (FFX) clutches

Description

Tire clutches (FFX or Fenaflex) consist of two hubs made of metal and one insert made of rubber. The advantage of FFX clutches is that they can compensate for large shaft deviations in all directions without overloading the bearings. They work well even with angular deviations of up to 4 degrees and tolerate parallel axis deviation. Tire clutches are play-free!

Due to the high elasticity of the joint, vibration and twisting transmitted from one axle to another are reduced when tire clutches are used. It is therefore often used to connect shafts of generators, pumps, fans and other drives with high vibrations. They like to use it as clutches for rotating systems!

The version of the tire made of natural rubber can be used at ambient temperatures from -50 to +50 degrees Celsius. The clutch insert made of synthetic rubber can be used at -15 and +70 degrees Celsius. There is also a fireproof (FRAS) tyre. Learn more in the downloadable catalog.
