08B bearing sprockets

Description

08B bearing sprockets are a type of hubless, bearing, toothless sprocket suitable for driving roller chains with the same designation as their designation. Since their shaft and the sprocket rotate separately due to bearing, they are not suitable for drive! That is why they are also called tension sprockets. Pitch: 1/2", 12.7mm

Wheel width: 5/16", 7.8mm

The leaf sprockets are manufactured according to DIN 8187 and ISO R606 from C45 (K1045) material. Sprockets made by different manufacturers may differ in certain production parameters, but their main parameters are similar or identical. In normal use, identical sprockets made by different manufacturers are interchangeable!

Why is a tension sprocket necessary?

During operation, roller chains must travel taut between the sprockets, otherwise vibrations generated by their non-driving motion will cause wear and tear on the sprockets and/or roller chain, causing the chain drive to fail. If the roller chain is not sufficiently tight, it can jump over one or more teeth under load, which can also be damaged. The chain drives are held tight by bearing, tensioning sprockets. The tensioning sprockets are tensioned by a screw, spring, rubber or torsion spring against the part of the roller chain between the sprockets to keep it tight.
