Flat straps
General information
The flat belt is the oldest type of strap used. They were originally made of leather, nowadays they are made of rubber reinforced with fabric, possibly plastic. The essence of the flat belt drive is to create as much friction as possible between the pulley and the belt. The advantage is that in the case of stepped discs, it is possible to change gears on the machine without changing the pulleys. In the case of tapered or stepped pulleys, stepless gear shifting is also possible. The pulleys available for flat belts can be flanged or rimless. Rimless flat pulleys are usually convex, while rimmed ones are usually cylindrical. Sheet belts made of polyurethane.
Type P are usually used not for folding, but for lifting. Most often they can be found in elevators, forklifts, lifting equipment and fitness equipment. They are not infinite, they are definitely suitable for linear movement!
