222xx Spherical roller bearings
Description
The 22200 series self-aligning cylindrical roller bearings are the self-aligning version of the 32200 series tapered roller bearings. We use them when the bearing has to bear a large axial and radial load, and when an angular deviation in the drive has to be corrected. The bearing consists of a five-digit identification number, the first three digits of which are "222". The last pair of digits can range from 00 (in theory) to 99 and shows the nominal diameter (shaft size) of the bearing's inner ring. The 22200 series barrel roller bearings can also be made with a tapered (1:12) inner ring.
Other features of the 22200 series bearings are identified by signs or suffixes. The most common pre/postmarks for 22200 series bearings are: SS=stainless material, MB=machined bronze basket, CC=pressed steel basket, K=tapered (1:12) inner ring, W33=lubrication groove and holes on outer ring.
