16x10 (5L) clutch V-belt
Description
It withstands sudden shocks and, thanks to the Kevlar covering fabric, tolerates clutch effects well. This means that it can slip without strong heating, and then after that it sticks back in the same way and transfers the necessary torque. It is also used on hoeing machines. The profile size of the 5L V-belts is 15.88x9.7mm. (5/8 inch) For easy identification and interchangeability, it is treated as a profile size of 16x10mm.
Interestingly, the manufacturers' data is ambiguous because different editions of the RMA standard define the profile width of 5L belts differently, and some manufacturers interpret the standard differently, while others interpret the standard differently. Sometimes it is referred to as 5/8 inch, other times it is referred to as 2/3 inches. Thus, a manufacturer takes 15.9mm as the reference size and a manufacturer takes 16.7mm as the reference size. PIX brand 5L belts are made wider on average than Megadyne brand 5L belts.
The nominal size of 5L straps is the outer inch size (La). The number in the part number is ten times the nominal inch size. In the Size fields, enter the rounded profile width of the belt in millimeters, the outer length in millimeters, and the outer length in inches. The inch size given in the table shows the nominal, outer size! The nominal (La=external) millimetre size and the calculated inner millimetre (Li) millimetre size are indicated in the description field.
