Description
STD toothed belts are belts suitable for non-slip drive transmission (as in the case of chain drive), since not only the friction force, but also teeth hold the belt in position. They are made of rubber with fiberglass force-bearing thread. They can also be considered as the predecessors of HTD types that are more commonly used today. The power transmission capacity of STD toothed belts is slightly inferior to HTD types due to the profile design of their teeth. It is always possible to use STD toothed belts instead of HTD. However, an STD type toothed belt can only be replaced with an HTD type toothed belt if the tooth depth of the pulley allows it.
