Inch pulleys

General information

The drive elements of inch toothed belts are the inch toothed belt pulleys. These toothed belts and discs are also called classic toothed belts, because all other toothed belts are designed based on them... The division of the inch toothed pulleys bears the letter of the corresponding toothed belt. MXL has a split of 2.032mm, XL division is 5.08mm, L is 9.525mm, H profile is 12.7mm, XH profile is 22.25mm, XXH profile is 31.75mm. The division is measured in the middle of the teeth or in the middle of the interdental spaces.

He tooth profile of inch toothed belt discs is much more angular than that of metric HTD pulleys and the width of the teeth is much larger. Their profile looks a bit like a cog with slightly tilted, angular teeth, so they are quite easy to recognize at a glance. Smaller inch toothed pulleys are typically made of steel, while larger ones are made of cast iron. The smaller inch toothed pulleys are flanged, while the larger ones are available in rimless design. For rimless versions or individual pulleys made of rack and pinion, a guide flange is available for retrofitting.
