V-belts with hexagon profile
General information
A hexagonal or double-sided V-belt is a specially manufactured "double-sided V-belt" that provides V-belt drive on both sides of the belt. The structure of the double-sided or hexagonal V-belt resembles two V-belts, which are fixed to each other backwards. The force-carrying thread runs through the center of the V-belt. This provides high ductility, in addition, ensures low elongation. It is generally used in agriculture, but is also used in some areas of industry; in places where the pulleys must rotate opposite each other. Due to the shape of the belt strung on the discs rotating the eyes, these folds are usually called "serpentine" drives.
Typical dimensions are internal size (Li) and force carrier size (Lp) The size measured at the location of the force carrier (center) is also called the effective size (Le). The hexagonal belts marked with double letters (AA, BB, CC, DD) have a nominal size of an inch, they are manufactured in inch size, the millimeter marking in the catalogue is for reference only, the product usually does not print data expressed in millimeters. Hexagonal V-belt products marked with triple letters (HAA, HBB, HCC) are V-belts with the same profile as products marked with double letters, they are interchangeable. However, for these models, the manufacturer specifies the millimeter size as nominal and the inch size, which is indicative (both millimeter size and inch size are usually indicated on the strap).
The nominal size of the hexagon straps available in our webshop is inch size. (e.g. AA105 or BB120)
